Accomplishments
-La Zarzuela (LZ) has brought zarzuela performances to venues to traditional and non-traditional Miami-Dade venues, reaching over 5,000 audience members.
-Three major updated full zarzuela productions to date: Luisa Fernanda, La Dolorosa, and Alma LLanera.
-Innovations: Revised texts with modern audiences in mind, new musical arrangements, new original music composed, modern productions.
-Free performances at the Miami-Dade Public Library, the Manuel Artime Community Center and senior residences.
-Positive audience and media response.
-Has provides meaningful performance opportunities for over 80 local artists.
