The change in taste also caused a decrease in the Zarzuela audiences. In order to make some titles viable today, La Zarzuela has created new versions of zarzuelas, keeping the essential elements, and modernizing speech, and substituting modern equivalents for obscure references. La Zarzuela, employs state-of-the-art techniques such as mapping, and overhead translations to make productions attractive to today's audiences.
